Optometrist
Dr. Rick Olson is a graduate of Oregon High School. He attended UW Platteville for undergraduate and graduate studies in the school of Biological Sciences. After graduation, Dr. Olson decided to pursue Optometry at The New England College of Optometry, where he earned his degree.
Dr. Rick loves Optometry! His passion for helping people is apparent the moment you meet him. He has developed so many long lasting relationships with his patients over his years of practicing, earning their trust in him as their eye care provider.
When he's not in the office, you will find Rick on the golf course or putting green. He and his wife Mary are both avid Badger fans (Go Badgers!). They love spending time with their 2 granddaughters.
Optometrist
Dr. Angie Olson grew up in Oregon, WI and is a graduate of Edgewood High School. She attended UW Madison for her undergraduate studies and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry. Dr. Olson has been practicing in the Madison and Waupun area since earning her degree. In January of 2008, she opened Olson Eye Care Madison and also acquired the practice of Dr. Dean Lenz in Waupun. In 2019, she purchased a third practice in Lake Mills, WI.
Dr. Angie's professional interests include, managing pre and post op Lasik, dry eye management, and working with patients to help them maintain a lifetime of healthy vision. The learning process never ends, especially in Optometry, and she is very passionate about having a great team of doctors and staff, who all have the same goal: "To become your trusted advisor in eye care, providing compassionate service and the most up to date solutions for all your eyecare needs."
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, Badger sports, golf and traveling to warm sunny beaches.
Optometrist
Dr. Mary Ellen Teclaw attended Purdue University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology and Physiology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating with clinic honors.
Dr. Teclaws’ clinical experience includes internship rotations at the NSU Eye Care Institute, MacDill Air Force Base 6th Medical Group, and the Orlando VA Medical Center. She has also provided volunteer eye care in St. Mary, Jamaica and at the Special Olympics in Orlando, FL as a member of the Healthy Athletes Opening Eyes Team.
Dr. Teclaw’s primary interests are in contact lens fitting and primary eye care – including the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy.
In her free time, Dr. Teclaw enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and her Brittany Spaniel. Her hobbies include swimming, skiing, and traveling.
Optometrist
Dr. Julia Runkel is a Wisconsin native and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her Bachelors of Science degree. She left Wisconsin for her doctorate at Southern California College of Optometry. Her professional internships included Phoenix Indian Medical Center, the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tucson, and a private practice outside of Denver.
Dr. Runkel returned to Wisconsin in 2013 and has been practicing optometry in the Madison and Milwaukee surrounding areas since. She is an active member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association and American Optometric Association and is participating in the AOA leadership Institute program. She has participated in several Special Olympics Opening Eyes events. She has also volunteered on mission trips to provide eye care to those in need in Honduras and Peru.
Dr. Runkel is very easy to talk to and loves to get to know her patients. She enjoys seeing children and will see everyone in the family over the age of 3.
Dr. Runkel’s professional interests include dry eye, contact lens fittings, and Lasik pre and post-ops. In her free time she is usually spending time with her husband and two young boys (ages 2 and 4). Her hobbies include watching football, travelling, and running.

Dr. Noel Arackal is a dedicated Optometrist with a deep commitment to patient care and education. A graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Arackal blends extensive training with a genuine passion for helping patients understand their eye health and treatment options. Raised in Prospect, Illinois, and a Marquette University alumnus, he has built a solid foundation in both science and compassionate care.
Professionally, he focuses on managing glaucoma, diabetic eye conditions, and dry eye treatment, always aiming to create a positive experience for his patients.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Arackal enjoys quality time with his family, staying active through running, and unwinding by the lake.
